Glamorous supermodel Sophie Dahl is to make an exclusive appearance at Wimbledon's Polka Theatre on Tuesday, January 22.
The granddaughter of Roald Dahl and the original inspiration behind the character of Sophie in The BFG, Dahl will be talking to local writer David Wood, whose adaptation of the book is currently running at Polka.
Wood will be asking her about growing up in the Dahl family, her grandfather's writings and Sophie's own busy career.
Dahl shot to fame in 1995 as a plus-size model but is now following in her grandfather's footsteps as an author.
Her first book, The Man with the Dancing Eyes, was a modern-day fairytale allegedly based on her love affair with Mick Jagger. Last year's Playing with Grownups, was also semi-autobiographical.
Dahl is a long-time Polka patron but this will be her first visit to the theatre. She is flying over especially for the occasion from New York where she lives with her current boyfriend, singer Jamie Cullum.
Tickets cost £5 and places are limited. For tickets call 020 8543 4888 or visit polkatheatre.com
The BFG runs at Polka until February 9.
