Croydon to host one of world's best violinists
Nigel Kennedy, one of the world’s leading violinists, has been producing jaw-dropping music for more than 25 years.
As a finale to the International Classical Music series at Croydon’s Fairfield Hall the virtuoso will appear as a guest soloist with the Royal Philharmonic Orchestra to perform Brahm’s Violin Concerto.
The performer’s extraordinary career has taken him from the UK to New York’s Juilliard School of Music and tours across the world.
During this time he has collected accolades such as Outstanding Contribution to British Music and male artist of the year at the Brit Awards, Vivement Dimanche Gold Award in France, numerous Grammy Awards and Switzerland’s Golden Rose of Montreux.
Conductor Andrew Litton provides the perfect musical partner to Kennedy for this Croydon performance, which also features Brahms’ Academic Festival Overture and Elgar’s Enigma Variations.
