Playwright brings Bond to the stage - like you've never seen her before

Bond is back like you’ve never seen her before, thanks to a Wimbledon playwright.

Martini Bond: Her hunt for the spy who loved her mum, written by Lyndsey Jones of Southridge Place in Wimbledon, will debut at the Camden Fringe Festival in August.

The playwright was inspired to write the comedy during this, James Bond’s 50th anniversary.

She said: "The play celebrates James Bond but also looks at the consequences of his womanising ways.

"I just wondered what a daughter of Bond would be like.

"After all, she would have grown up in single parent household with a Bond girl for a mother.

"So would she shoot to kill or just go shopping for glamorous clothes?"

A former Daily Mail sub editor, Lyndsey has written numerous sketches, which have been performed by comedy duo the Spring Chix on the London fringe circuit.

She has also worked as a joke writer and has had more than 100 cartoons published in the Times Educational Supplement.

She added: "It’s so exciting to be part of the Camden Fringe Festival.

"We really hope people come to see the show and be entertained by a new take on the Bond theme."
