Fifteen top quality pianos delivered to a secondary school have been played in unison in an award-winning piece composed by a pupil.
Trinity school celebrated the purchase of 15 Steinway pianos on Friday with the debut of Prologue: 3x5, composed by 15-year-old Freddie Meyers.
The talented Morden teenager was commissioned by the school after winning BBC Young Composer of the year earlier this summer with his piece, Three Apparitions.
Head of Music at Trinity, David Swinson, said: "We are delighted that all our students can now experience rehearsing and playing on some of the best pianos in the world - no matter what level they have achieved."
Accomplished in three instruments, Freddie has had to be hard at work creating such an unusual piece incorporating so many pianos.
He said: "It was quite a challenge. I spent about three weeks thinking about what I could try and what would work."
