Goldman Ensemble: Fun and something different
Following its success at the Brighton Fringe Festival and across the UK, Piano Recital (Piano Not Included) is on its way to Thames Ditton.
Piano Recital (Piano Not Included) is a theatrical comedy show with exceptional live music everyone will recognise.
It explores the backstage disasters as well as the daily joys and struggles of professional musicians.
Written, acted and performed by the Goldman Ensemble, they come together to create a unique partnership, sharing their love of music and a joie de vivre that is impossible to resist.
The show was inspired by a true story. In March 2008, St Martin-in-the-Fields is packed with an expectant audience, blissfully unaware of the panic taking place behind the small door to the left of the stage.
Less than 30 minutes to go and the pianist who was to perform with the Goldman Ensemble at the prestigious performance has not yet arrived. He is stuck in the mayhem of London traffic, made especially worse by the extensive road works within the city.
But the show must go on. Can the concert really go ahead without a pianist?
The Goldman Ensemble are recognised by internationally-renowned musicians for their daring, imaginative and confident performances. Sisters Gavriella and Ortal Goldman, with Ola Ness and Matthew Green, breathe new life into well-loved works as well as a repertoire rarely heard elsewhere.
Piano Recital (Piano Not Included) will be performed at the Vera Fletcher Hall, Thames Ditton on Friday, October 12, at 8pm.
Tickets cost £11 and are available from the box office by calling 08448 848832. For more information, visit goldmanensemble.com.
