Invitation to Streatham Hub construction site
People are being given the chance to look behind the scenes of a multimillion pound leisure and housing development this month.
Contractors are inviting visitors onto the Streatham Hub building site in Streatham High Road on November 10 as part of the Open Doors Weekend, a construction industry initiative.
Once complete the Streatham Hub will sport an ice rink, a swimming pool, 250 apartments, a bus terminal and a Tesco Extra supermarket.
The Open Doors, a scheme to give the public a glimpse into construction, is the result of CITB-ConstructionSkills partnering with three other leading industry bodies.
Roger Stone, a sector strategy manager for CITB-ConstructionSkills, said: "‘Open Doors’ is a unique opportunity for the industry to display the complexity and scope of modern construction projects and give people a taste of what it’s really like to work in the industry."
