Schoolchildren plant new trees on Clapham Common

Schoolchildren planted new trees on Clapham Common this week.
The first seven trees were planted by children from Lambeth Academy pupils, while another seven were planted by Honeywell School youngsters.
It followed a joint project with the London Society and the Friends of Clapham Common.
A range of lime leafs, holm oaks and sliver birches were planted by the children on Thursday.
Youngsters also planted a London plane, three black mulberries and a northern red oak.
The Friends of Clapham Common are inviting people to take part in a training session to find out more on how to run an orchard.
