Callous shop shooter Anthony McCalla admits prison officer attacks
12:22pm Tuesday 22nd January 2013 in News
A man who left a five-year-old girl paralysed in a shop shooting has admitted attacking three prison officers.
Anthony McCalla from Streatham, is currently serving a minimum of 14 years for the shooting of Thusha Kamaleswaran and Roshan Selvakumar, 35, in Brixton in March 2011.
Twenty-year-old McCalla and two others were convicted of causing grievous bodily harm with intent and the attempted murder of a rival gang member.
On January 18 at Woolwich Crown Court, McCalla was given a further 12-month sentence after admitting punching and attacking officers at Belmarsh prison between April and May last year.
Detective Constable Elizabeth Dell from Greenwich police said: "McCalla is proving to be a difficult prisoner and this is not a surprise - the judge in his previous trial described him as a danger to society.
"I am pleased with the result of the investigation - attacks on prison officers will simply not be tolerated."
