Mayor of London Boris Johnson visits the Crystal Palace Foundation
The Mayor of London was at Crystal Palace to meet with the club’s Foundation to discuss their plans for the future.
Councillor Steve O’Connell accompanied the Mayor as they were told about the Foundation’s three year community strategy.
It includes how they want to support the growth of grass roots football, support childhood development and promote healthy living.
The Mayor spoke to several young people who are now volunteering with the Foundation after undertaking one of its youth programmes and also played some table tennis as well as trying to do some keepy uppies.
David Groves Chair of Trustees said: “Although Boris may not be quite as talented as Dwight Gale, he did show surprising prowess at ball juggling.
“The important thing for us however, is that he took time out of his busy schedule to see first-hand the work we are doing to help make a difference. We are one club, one community.”
