Crystal Palace mum's party raises £1,800
A festive fundraising event organised by mums in Crystal Palace raised £1,800.
The Crystal Palace Mums Winter Wonderland Party held on December 6, included entertainment by Hatchlings, Sing and Sign and MiniMagic, along with a visit from Santa.
The money raised at the party will be split between the children's library at Upper Norwood Joint Library and the Salvation Army.
The mums beat their target of £1,300 by £100 and £1,400, which will go towards the new equipment and facilities at the library, such as interactive story stacks and a refurbished bathroom with a changing table.
A donation of £400 will be given to the Salvation Army, who will use the money to create food hampers that will be given to families with newborns and young children in need of extra support this Christmas.
The hampers will include basics such as baby food, baby wipes and milk and will be topped up with festive treats including toys and mince pies.
Robert Gibson co-chair of the Upper Norwood Library Trust said: "I would like to pay tribute to the Crystal Palace Mums not only for their fantastic fund raising prowess for the library and the Salvation Army which is so much appreciated, but also for the tremendous contribution they make towards Crystal Palace Community Life and the support and friendship they afford each other through their Facebook group."
