Young Enterprise success at The Norwood School

Streatham Guardian: The Norwood School - Award for Best Sales Technique The Norwood School - Award for Best Sales Technique

Sixth Form students won the trophy for The Best Sales Technique at the Young Enterprise Trade Fair conducted at Southside Shopping Centre, Wandsworth on Saturday 8th February.

The Sixth Formers have formed a company called, Off the Cuff which manufactures friendship bracelets. These can be chosen from the wide range on offer or personalised with a name or message. The bracelets were selling well to Saturday shoppers in Wandsworth and this was primarily due to the excellent sales skills exhibited by Marta Grilo, Jake Campbell, Harry Mead, Emanuel Adepoju and Nicole Holding.

The other prizes were for the best product which was a recipe booklet from Sydenham High and best display stand that went to SFX.

Young Enterprise is the UK’s leading enterprise education charity working with more than 3,500 businesses and over 5,000 schools. The students at The Norwood School are part of the Company Programme which encourages students to set up and run a real business. This experience enables students to gain an in-depth understanding of business and develops skills of team working, customer service, accounting and planning. These are invaluable skills that support their learning and progress later in life.

The students are ably supported (and encouraged) by their Link Teacher Victoria Evans and their Business Advisor Rob Cooper.
