Sutton MPs claimed £242,502 expenses during the last financial year.

Paul Burstow, Sutton's member of parliament, claimed £2,712 for a London supplement; £20,137 for office running costs; £82,085 for staf; £794 for car travel and £27 for rail; £1,592 for other travel; £56 for staff travel; £2,274 for centrally purchased stationery; £7,377 for stationery associated postage costs; and £1,064 for IT.

Tom Brake, MP for Carshalton and Wallington, claimed £2,712 for the London supplement; £23,026 for office costs; £83,140 for staffing costs; £432 for car travel; £245 for rail; £1,616 for other travel; £3,351 for stationery; £8,804 for stationery and £1,058 for IT.

Politicians voted on a failed private members bill which would have prevented publication of some aspects of their expenses.

But the bill, which they said was to protect details of correspondence with constituents, did not gain enough support in the House of Lords.

The figures, released by Parliament's Member Estimate Committee, also show former PM Tony Blair claimed £97,084 and new leader Gordon Brown claimed £135,525.

Conservative leader David Cameron claimed £135,336 and former Lib Dem leader Sir Menzies Campbell claimed £142,810.

Paul Burstow spent £10,000 on stationary? How did he manage that? He gets his private secretary to ignore his electorate for him. God forbid he should actually do what he's paid for and respresent his community. And no Paul, representing your community doesn't mean turning up to an event every time there's a photo opportunity, it means actually paying attention their wants and needs rather than concentrating on your own political agenda and trying to slime your way to the top of the Lib Dems.

The same can be said for Brake.

I find nauseated everytime someone says he is a real local MP. He isn't. He's useless.

What have they actually done for the borough? He models himself as the saviour of St. Helier hospital yet it is still facing closure 10 years on. He claims to have fought hard for the post offices and they're still shutting down!

Let's get a proper MP in. And seeing as Labour can never win here, and never should, let's vote Tory.

I would rather poke myself in the eye with a rusty fork than vote Tory (personal reasons). If truth be told, I might forfit my vote next time because I sincerely believe all politicians are stuck right in the middle - there is no left, no right... Just profit.
