Politicians voted on a failed private members bill which would have prevented publication of some aspects of their expenses.
But the bill, which they said was to protect details of correspondence with constituents, did not gain enough support in the House of Lords.
The figures, released by Parliament's Member Estimate Committee, also show former PM Tony Blair claimed £97,084 and new leader Gordon Brown claimed £135,525.
Conservative leader David Cameron claimed £135,336 and former Lib Dem leader Sir Menzies Campbell claimed £142,810.
