Mercury prize winner Speech Debelle has said she deserved to be booed by a 500-strong crowd last night as she was "way to too drunk" to perform.
The Gipsy Hill rapper was given a tough time by some Take That fans at a London event as she performed her own version of the boy band's 1993 hit Pray.
She was also criticised by host of the SingStar Take That video game launch, James Corden, who said "anyone can rap", before launching into a rap of his own.
She told the Streatham Guardian today the Gavin and Stacey star was right to criticise her.
She said: "He was right to say those things. I was absolutely terrible."
She said she had misjudged the scale of the event, adding: "I had too much to drink. I was way to drunk to perform in front of such a big crowd."
She said when she woke up this morning she felt she was right to challenge Corden to do better than her, but after watching her performance again she deserved the treatment she received.
She said: "I wasn't even rapping properly. I was trying to sing the song."
