A woman was robbed of her phone on Valentine’s Day after the thief grabbed her around the throat.

The 27-year-old was walking along Cotherstone Road towards Christchurch Road on Tuesday, February 14 at about 2.40pm when the incident took place.

The suspect demanded her phone and then ran away in the direction of Holmewood Road.

A witness made himself known to the victim moments after the robbery and offered his phone so she could call police.

Police are very keen to trace and speak with this witness.

He is described as a black man aged between 30-40 years wearing casual clothing. He had been standing at the junction of Christchurch Road and Cotherstone Road, when the robbery occurred.
