One hundred fathers marched from Brixton to Brockwell Park to highlight the needs of young families.

The parade on June 16, which started at the Ritzy cinema and ended with family-themed activities in the park, was being organised by Lambeth Dads and local charity the St Michael’s Fellowship.

Theo Field, 21, a father-of-two and a founding member of the group, said: "We feel we needed to promote the awareness about the opportunities that are out there for young fathers and even older fathers.

"Becoming a father can be a scary experience, so we want to show people what they need to do [as a dad]."
