A hotel worker was today found guilty of stabbing a man to death in Streatham.

Jamie Rickerby, 26, fatally stabbed Soloman Sarfo, 34, with a knife in Streatham Hill last year.
Jurors at the Old Bailey yeserday returned a guilty verdict at the end of a retrial after a hung jury trial in October.

Rickerby, of Balham High Road, attacked Mr Sarfo and left him dying in Tilson Gardens on the evening of Feb 27.

Earlier in the trial, residents told the court they heard the victim scream "help me, help me I'm being robbed" as his killer stood over him.

Mr Sarfo then said "Come on then, you’ve stabbed me, so come on then, let’s have it" and tried to give chase, but collapsed to the ground.

The father-of-two died shortly after midnight at the scene with a knife wound through his heart and liver despite the efforts of emergency services.

Police later found a three one-once wraps of crack cocaine worth around £5,000 on Mr Sarfo’s body.

The court heard that Rickerby, who worked at the Park Lane Hilton and lived with his partner and child in Balham, was not a stranger to drugs.

Mr Sarfo, a part-time garage worker who exported items to his native Ghana, left his girlfriend at his flat in Kings Avenue, Clapham, just hours before his murder.

Rickerby will be sentenced at a later date.
