bridge closure: Greater London Assembly member Tony Arbour is pressing for a speedy re-opening of Hammersmith Bridge after the bombing earlier this month. He called for Hammersmith and Fulham Council to publish its engineers report, detailing the extent of the structural damage to the bridge. Councillor Arbour, who represents the south west constituency, claimed the closure could be unnecessarily prolonged by the council, which opposed the reopening of the bridge. "Continued closure will cause misery over wide areas of London," he said.
