A run and picnic event is taking place in Lambeth on Sunday to raise money to support orphans and children affected by HIV in South Africa.

About 200 runners and picnickers are expected to turn out in Brockwell Park for the eighth event of its kind, organised by the charity Starfish Greathearts Foundation.

CEO Elinor Middleton said this was the first time the event had been held in Brockwell Park. Ms Middleton said: “It’s quite exciting to have a new venue. It’s a really good day out.”

The event, which attracts runners of all abilities and includes a children’s 100m dash, starts at 10am. For more information visit starfishcharity.org.
