A man has been assaulted just off Streatham High Road in broad daylight.

The man, in his late thirties, was assaulted by two black men, in their early twenties, wearing dark clothes at Gracefield Gardens at about 12.15pm on Monday.

Steve Robin, who saw the men running away, said the victim had been kicked and punched.

Mr Robin said: "He’s been assaulted and police are out there. I think he is waiting for an ambulance."

A London Ambulance Service spokeswoman said ambulance staff treated the patient for a cut on his head and took him to hospital.

Investigations are ongoing with one assailant described as tall and the other as much shorter.
