A cyclist has been taken to hospital with "life-changing" injuries after a collision with a lorry near Clapham Common.

It is understood the 28-year-old woman may lose the use of her arm after she became trapped beneath the heavy goods vehicle.

Lambeth Police, however, were keen to point out her injuries were not "life-threatening".

The incident happened just after 8am this morning at the junction of Clapham Common North Side and Cedars Road.

The London Ambulance Service, the London Fire Brigade and the air ambulance were also at the scene.

Clapham Common North remained closed between Wix’s Lane and Cedars Road while paramedics treated the woman and accident investigation experts trawled the scene.

No arrests have been made at present.
