Crystal Palace to head any queue for potential Zaha loan move
Steve Browett said Crystal Palace would be at the front of the queue should Wilfried Zaha become available for a loan move in January.
However, the co-chairman also told the Eagle Eye show on Croydon Radio that he would be surprised if David Moyes allowed the former Palace favourite any time away from Old Trafford.
Zaha was instrumental in guiding the Eagles to the Premier League, but his play-offs escapades against Brighton and at Wembley were tempered by the knowledge he would be a Red Devil instead of an Eagle come the new season.
The 20-year-old has appeared just once in the United first team, leading to speculation he will be shipped out on loan after Christmas – a rumour that has the Selhurst Park faithful buzzing.
Browett said: “Wilf is a fantastic player and when he gets his chance at Manchester United – which is just a matter of time – he will be a star.
“The fans will love him, and the manager will realise just how good a player he has, and Wilf’s career will fly.”
He added: “But in the unlikely event that come January David [Moyes] does not fancy Wilf for the team, and he is available for loan, certainly we would be at the front of any queue – as we would be for any player of his ability.”
Happy days: The win at Brighton in the Championship play-offs was Zaha's penultimate game for the Eagles
