Dons legend Terry Brown is back in business

Ex-Dons boss Terry Brown is back in management after being head-hunted while on the other side of the world.

The 61-year-old, out of work since being sacked in September last year, was in Adelaide, Australia, watching the Ashes when the chairman of Ryman Premier League outfit Margate rang and offered him the job.

Brown said: “I was watching England being thrashed so the call cheered me up.

“There are big things happening at Margate, and the chairman convinced me and Stuart [Cash] that we had a chance to emulate what we achieved with Dons.

“We cannot wait to get started, the old buzz is back.”

Margate are struggling in the bottom half of the table and Brown is under no illusions as to the difficulty of the task that lies ahead - however, it is a task he is embracing.

"We need to get the team winning again and that will be tough," he said.

"But a chance like this does not come round very often and Stuart and I jumped at the chance of going to Margate.

"Who knows, we may end up playing Wimbledon as we climb the leagues."
