Crystal Palace boss Tony Pulis praised Jason Puncheon's resolve after a month to remember for the Eagles winger.

It appears to be culminating in a deal to make permanent his loan move from Southampton - measure of Pulis' confidence in the 27-year-old.

Puncheon began January with a successful penalty in the 1-1 with Norwich City, before his infamous penalty blunder at White Hart Lane.

Since then, Croydon-born Puncheon has bounce back to hit the decisive goals in 1-0 wins over Stoke City and Hull City.

Pulis said: "Jason has been excellent since I walked in door. He can get sloppy, but if you keep on at him he is a Premier League player, and he will win you games - as he has.

"In life, it does not always run smoothly, you have ups and downs, but you get up as quick as you can, remember those that matter and move one.

"Jason has had to stand up and show the right spirit, and he has done that."
