London Scottish's Bright is honoured by award nomination
London Scottish number eight Mark Bright may be nearing retirement age, but he is not done with the game just yet.
The 35-year-old was this week shortlisted for the Championship player of the year award after scoring 21 tries in 28 league games for the exiles this season.
The New Zealand-born back-row forward was named in last season’s Championship Dream XV and was crowned the club’s player of the season at Scottish’s end of season dinner last Friday.
Bright is in the twilight of his career but is out for a repeat performance next term as the Athletic Ground outfit go in search of a top four finish.
“To be honest I am really thrilled and thankful to be nominated,”said Bright.
“This season at London Scottish has been a really solid one for myself and I think as a team we have come a long way over the past 12 months.
“To be shown confidence and respect from the club captains is a great feeling and hopefully I can carry that form into next season.”
